Genealogy Index

The genealogy is of course more than just Murphys. In fact, the Ibbotsons take us back to the 1750's!! I keep relevant information in The Master Genealogist (TMG) and periodically export it to PhpGedView for relatives to view online. All TMG data is fully  available, but password protected.  I try to export current data four times a year.   A less detailed version of the TMG is more frequently updated. Since few living people are included, it is not password protected. The differances between the two versions is detailed here. Also see Liz's side in the same format.

New: Muir Information

I made up a  chart showing  my father's mother Jennie.   A  Mungo Muir story is here.   Of interest only to a genealogist, I've outlined the process of figuring out  some of this information is here.

Murphy Stories

Newest, is a shorter story,  by Pat Murphy who lives about a mile from where Thomas Murphy settled in Ontario. The first old Murphy story was written by Fr. Michel in 1952. There is an updated version by my Uncle Tom. Although basically the same stories, there are details in one, not in the other. They have helped me considerably in understanding the Murphy family tree.   Find a page for my  uncle, Fr. Harold  A. Murphy and a page of all my Clerics.

Census Information

A partial copy of the original 1910 Federal Census is most interesting.  I transcribed some information into an Excel spreadsheet in order to keep track of  information from various families and years.
